On August 13, 2026, Demo Day took place in Podgorica—a gathering that brought together games, new ideas, experience sharing, and the people who are working together to develop the game development community in Montenegro.
The event took place in the ICT Cortex space and marked a significant culmination of six months of training, practice, and work in courses on Blender, Unity, and Unreal Engine.
Demo Day gave participants the opportunity to present projects they worked on during the program, share their experiences, and receive feedback from the professional community.
The project didn’t necessarily have to be complete. Participants could present a single game level, mechanic, asset, prototype, or project still in development. This format allowed participants to focus not only on the end result but also on the process of game creation itself—ideas, experimentation, finding solutions, and skill development. It’s especially symbolic that the event was held at ICT Cortex, an organization that brings together representatives of the tech sector, supports the development of the digital ecosystem, and creates a space for education, collaboration, and professional growth.
ICT Cortex employees attended Demo Day, supporting the participants and the initiative to develop the local game development community.
Guests also included representatives from the gaming and tech industries, whose experience is especially valuable for aspiring developers.
Joining Demo Day was Miloš Šćepanović, VP AdTech at Yodo1 Games and founder of MonteGames. Yodo1 Games is an international company that works with mobile game developers, helping projects develop, improve monetization, and reach a global audience.
Also attending the event was Aleksandar Dlabac, founder and CEO of Codelab. The opportunity to directly interact with tech business representatives and industry professionals provided participants with additional space to share experiences, ask questions, and discuss the prospects of their own projects.
Another key guest at Demo Day was the “Group Starlight” which attended the event led by its longtime leader, Andrey Panfilov. The participation of such communities once again emphasized the open format of Demo Day, which brings together people with diverse professional and creative backgrounds but a shared interest in technology, digital creativity, and the development of new initiatives.
One of the projects presented at Demo Day was “Traffic Architect,” presented by Dmitry Petrov. Dmitry continues to work on the project, and the meeting was an opportunity to present its current version, share his idea, and discuss further development with the event’s participants and guests.
However, Demo Day wasn’t just for those already involved in game development.
The event also welcomed those considering their first steps in game development, those looking to get to know the professional community, find future partners and like-minded individuals, or simply learn more about how video games are created.
Throughout the evening, guests tested the projects, interacted with their creators, discussed ideas, shared experiences, and made new connections. The informal atmosphere, refreshments, and treats made Demo Day more than just a presentation of learning outcomes, but a true community gathering.
Such events are especially important for a growing industry. It’s through live interaction that new connections and ideas are born, teams are formed, and projects emerge that could one day become part of Montenegro’s growing game development ecosystem.
Thanks to all the participants, guests, partners, and community representatives who joined Demo Day in Podgorica on August 13th.
See you again – with new games, ideas, and projects.
